Long-range headlights must be approved according to European standards and correctly marked on the lens or the headlight body. The CE marking must include the ""HR/HCR"" for long-range headlights and the number of light points (reference mark).
Regarding the installation of additional long-range headlights on a vehicle, this must be approved as a lighting modification. It should be noted that the number of long-range headlights on M and N vehicles must be even, with a maximum of 4 (including those already installed on the vehicle), and the total number of light points (reference mark on the headlight) cannot exceed 100. Furthermore, there are limitations to consider regarding placement and geometry.
This approval information refers to application in Spain according to the Vehicle Modifications Manual, Revision 7. For any other country, the corresponding national legislation should be consulted.
